A NGK, world's largest manufacturer and specialist in spark plugs, informs that the part known as Sonda Lambda is sold under the NTK brand also in the aftermarket, is responsible for analyzing the condition of the vehicle's fuel combustion, playing a key role in the control of pollutant emissions and fuel economy. The Oxygen Sensor, or Sonda Lambda, analyzes the oxygen levels in the engine exhaust gases and reports the quality of the air/fuel mixture to the vehicle's control unit (ECU). The sensor compares the oxygen concentration in the exhaust gases with the ambient air, enabling the adjustment of the amount of fuel injected into the combustion chamber. Another tip from NGK is that consumers should be aware of poor quality fuels, which can influence the proper functioning of the part as well as reduce its useful life.
