NGK renews supply of spark plugs with Formula 1 team

A NGK, leading candle maker, ignition cables and oxygen sensors of the world, continues to supply and develop spark plugs for Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz engines during the 2013 Formula 1 season. The continuity of the partnership refers to the quality and reliability of the products manufactured by the Japanese company, capable of serving one of the most demanding markets in the world. In addition to sponsoring Scuderia Ferrari, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes e a Mercedes AMG PETRONAS F1, NGK continues to supply, with candles, other teams that use the same Ferrari and Mercedes-Benz engines. Finally, teams that use Renault thrusters also use spark plugs from the renowned NGK brand, present in 10 of the 11 teams in the category. The Formula 1 season had its opening round held in Melbourne, to Australia, followed by the Malaysian Grand Prix, in Kuala Lumpu. All top ten of each competition - riders who managed to score in the first two stages of the year – were equipped with NGK sails. The next Grand Prix will be held in Shanghai, and China, at dawn (04h) of April 14. History The first challenge of NGK spark plugs in F1 took place in 1964, together with the Honda team. Beyond Formula 1, NGK is present in other major competitions on the international stage such as the WRC, main world rally competition, Super GT, Japan's top car racing category of Gran Turismo class cars, besides providing for nothing else, none other than Yamaha, Honda, Ducati no Moto GP World Championship.
