After winning the first pole position in Stock Car, the young Bruno Baptista had a perfect race in the opening race of the 6th stage of the Brazilian Stock Car Championship, performed yesterday (Sunday), in Cascavel and won its second victory in the most important category of Brazilian motorsport. Using the strategy of having as little fuel as possible from qualifying and the 30-minute race, when did you get the best time without having the fastest car, Bruno Baptista took advantage of the lower weight of his Toyota to open an advantage of almost 2 seconds over Julio Campos, Cesar Ramos, Diego Nunes and Thiago Camilo. Thus, after the good start, stayed even longer on the track than its two main competitors, setting good times and the best lap of the race, with 1:04:737. Even wasting a little more time by putting a little more fuel on the stop, returned to the track with practically three seconds ahead of Diego Nunes. in the final minutes, leader Baptista and vice-‐leader Nunes exchanged overtaking buttons for several laps in a row, but the youngest driver was always safe even when the difference, in one of the turns, it was just 1 second. "Our team's strategy was all focused on the first race. Even though, it was not easy to take pole and win. The minimum error in a lap on the track or in refueling and changing tires in the pit would be enough not to win. happily, the team worked very well and I got my first victory in a first race, since last year's, no Velo City, it was in the second race of the stage", explained Bruno Baptista, Toyota RCM Racing team driver, which has the support of Webmotors companies, HERO, Pro Automotive, Loctite and NGK do Brasil. After 5a and 6a stages of Cascavel the 2020 Brazilian Stock Championship now has a new leader: Cesar Ramos with 146 points, Bruno Baptista occupies 12th place, with 91 points. The next stage will take place at the Velo-‐cittá racetrack on October 17 and 18.
