NGK reaches historic mark of 2 billion spark plugs produced in Brazil

One of the most admired and respected companies in the automotive industry, NGK do Brazil reaches this month the historic mark of 2 billion spark plugs produced at its factory in Mogi das Cruzes, countryside of São Paulo. Nowadays, More than 270 thousand units leave its production lines daily and supply the national and South American markets, with quality standards identical to those of the parent company, in Nagoya, Japan. The result was achieved seven months after the company completed 55 years of operation in the country and reinforces its position as the world's largest specialist in spark plugs.

"The contribution and commitment of our more than 1,300 employees and the welcome of the population of Alto Tietê, especially the one in the city of Mogi das Cruzes, they were fundamental for this important conquest ".

In recent years, the multinational invested heavily in modernizing its facilities, improving their efficiency and strengthening their competitiveness by increasing productive capacity. Brazilian production is a world reference in technological processes and manufacturing of spark plugs, so much so that the company was recognized several times, mainly for excellence in quality.

To ensure that every NGK spark plug has its DNA built in, About 150 processes are needed, interspersed with various electronic and visual checks. In addition to reaching the historical mark of 2 billion spark plugs, recently the company achieved another record: 200 million ignition cables produced at the Mogi das Cruzes factory.
