São Paulo, April 2023 - A NGK, Japanese multinational specialist in ignition system belonging to the Niterra group, reinforces its commitment to the development of motorsport in Brazil through renewed support for Cobra Racing Team driver Diego Nunes, in the 2023 TCR South America season.
The driver will race a car from the German brand Audi RS3 TCR LMS equipped with NGK spark plugs. "The races represent a great opportunity for us to put our products to the test.", says Marcos Mosso, gerente de Marketing and NGK. "The applications Racing represent an extreme use in which motors are pushed to the limit and only high-tech and high-quality products support this application condition."
The second race of the championship is scheduled for April 16, at the Juan Manuel Fangio Municipal Race Track, In Rosario, in Argentine. Brazil, in its turn, will host four of the ten stages of the 2023 TCR South America season: beyond Interlagos, the Autodromo Internacional de Santa Cruz do Sul (RS), the Autodromo Vellocita, Brand will equip Audi RS3 TCR cars with spark plugs (SP), and the Nelson Piquet Race Track, in Brasilia (DF), will host the races by December this year. The others are scheduled to take place on Uruguayan and Argentine tracks.
In this year, in addition to technical support, NGK presents closely to its customers a new vision of the automotive universe through the participation of the public as spectators of the races. "NGK has always been associated with automotive racing and the renewal of the Cobra Racing Team's sponsorship reflects this greater approach of the world brand to high-performance engines.", says Mosso.
