detonation sensors

They are sensors that detect abnormal combustion phenomena that occur after the spark of the spark plug. These processes are characterized by increased pressure and temperature at the edge of the combustion chamber and produce a characteristic noise.

resonant sensor:

They are sensors calibrated to generate a signal only at predetermined frequencies. Its application is specific to each type of engine.

non-resonant sensor:

These are sensors that generate a characteristic frequency and it is up to the automaker in the engine calibration process to identify the detonation frequency.
